I believe that staying motivated and focused on a goal is a lot like exercise. It's something you need to be doing on a regular basis. You decide to get strong and fit so you change your diet, start running, or going to the gym. But every day that passes your motivation drops little by little. In a matter of weeks you are back to your same old routine. So how does one stay motivated over the long haul? You need to be programming yourself, and all top achievers I know are doing just that. They sit themselves down on a regular basis and form a clear vivid picture in their minds of exactly what they want. You can do the same with only 5 minutes / day. Keep a notebook by the head of your bed and EVERY NIGHT before falling asleep write down your specific goals. AS you fall off to sleep that suggestion will sink deeply into your subconscious mind and without even realizing it, will begin to direct your behavior toward that stated goal.
